The Liga MX has changed the date and time of the match between Querétaro and Toluca, corresponding to the 5th round of the Apertura 2026 Tournament. According to various sources, the annoyance in the Queretaro area is that the governing body of the national football has taken a decision that they claim harms them in many areas, both in the sporting and economic aspects, even though there is a willingness to support the Red Devils in the next phase of the Leagues Cup.

One of the aspects that has hurt the most to the fans is that they seek to build a solid bond with the local fans and this type of modifications cause what they consider a lack of respect for their fans, since the match was rescheduled with only four days in advance.

People inside the club expressed a deep disappointment with this movement, which they argue will also hit the institution's pockets, since there will undoubtedly be fewer followers.

The Liga MX, through the Mexican Football Federation, issued a statement in which it specifies that the modification is made based on what is established in Article 18 of the Competition Regulation, related to the reprogramming of matches.

It is worth noting that in the informative card it is stated that the entity thanks the Querétaro Club for its disposition to 'modify' the programming of its match and contribute to generate the best possible conditions for the participation of Mexican clubs in the Leagues Cup.

However, reality is far from the statement. The anger also lies in the fact that they will now rest a day less, since the match will be played on Friday at 21:00 hours and not on Saturday at 17:00 hours as it was previously planned.

With this, the team had to change its planning drastically, having a day less of recovery; this despite the fact that, when they were consulted in the first instance about the adjustment, the initial response was a resounding ¡no!

The current situation of Querétaro in the Liga MX is as follows: 7th place with 7 points, 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in 4 games, with a recent streak of DDWWL.

Querétaro's next date is August 22, when they will face Toluca in a match that will be played at home.
